Bold. Elegant. Living. | Modern Industrial Dining

The dining room is a place where memories can be made. Great food and even better laughs are shared. When my clients came to me, they wanted a space where they could do just that. The dining space in their home wasn't serving its' purpose. So I went to view the space, we talked about what they wanted to see in the space and how we could find and arrange pieces in a way that would best suit their needs.

Check out the before pictures of the space:

After taking measurements, I went to work sourcing products and creating a mood board with the items I chose. You can view that board below:

The rug in this mood board wasn't the original. My client didn't like the one I originally chose, so I went and found another and this one was PERFECT!
The table was purchased from World Market and is SOLID. It took two people to lift it into place. It can seat up to 10. My clients wanted a large piece that they could use for entertaining. This table definitely fit that mold. Check out the after photos of their newly styled dining room:

Here are a few accessory shots:

And then a few pics of me pretending to read lol....

With a space this gorgeous, I just had to get a few pics in :)

My clients LOVE their new space and are ready to make many new memories with their family and friends. Mission accomplished.

Please, please, let me know if you have any questions about any of the pieces or my process or anything else! I'd love to answer your questions.

Stay tuned for more!

BEL

Bold. Elegant. Living: Small Office - Big Heart

Hey guys! Thanks so much for coming to check out my blog!
You can read the post below to learn more about the transformation of my client's office space.

My client longed for an office retreat. A place where she could bring board members and potential donors for meetings and a place where she wouldn't mind spending the long hours her position demanded.

Take a quick look at what her space looked like on my initial visit, then I'll walk you through how we converted her space!

During the consultation, we discussed her top three concerns:
1. Declutter the space so that she could give presentations when she needed to.
2. Brighten up the space to express her personality, but keep it modern
3. Bring in a cozy chair so that she could work those long hours comfortably.

After that meeting, I got to work creating a color palette that would fit her style and sourcing items based on our discussion. I created a mood board for her and showed her what I had in mind and it was a home run! You can view that mood board below...

My intention with the accent wall was to have an ombre effect, but it didn't turn out like I wanted it to. So I just gave the wall a two-tone effect with a 1-inch complementing blue stripe in the middle. I actually mixed all of these colors myself with two Sherwin Williams paint color. The bottom color is bold, but not obnoxious. The top color is tranquil and serene. She loved the peaceful color so much, that I ended up painting the other three walls this same color! We had plans to hang items on the accent wall, but we ended up just letting it be the art for the room.
Check out the final product below...what do you think?

Here is the space completed. It's de-cluttered. It's brighter and more modern. And there is a comfy chair in the corner.

My client is in LOVE with this space and often thanks me for how peaceful it is. I am so grateful that I was able to help her create a space that she loves to "live" in. Mission accomplished.

Well, folks, that's all for this one. I'll have a new blog post up sometime next week about another Houston Midtown rental property I styled. So stay tuned!

BEL

Bold. Elegant. Living. : Industrial Farmhouse Apartment!

Hey guys! Thanks so much for coming to check out my blog! You can read the post below to hear a little bit more about how this industrial farmhouse apartment came to be!

This space was a bit of a challenge for me since I had never used red as the main decorating color before. This particular space is in a historic building, and my client wanted the decor to fit into the industrial vibe the building already had. High ceilings and exposed insulation made it easier for me to get into the "groove" of decorating this space. I wanted to stay true to the industrial aesthetic, but also wanted to give it a bit of flair, so I decided to mix it with a hint of farmhouse style.

This space consisted of a combined living/dining area and one bedroom. You can take a look at the pics below and tell me what you think. My clients liked the space! It's a rental property of their's in the Houston Midtown area.

Pics of the bedroom and it's seating area are below.

Well, folks, that's all for this one. I'll have a new blog post up soon about an office space that I completed here in Dallas. So stay tuned!

Bold. Elegant. Living. : The Beyond the Horizon Collection

Hey guys!

I know it's been a while since I've been on here, but I recently had a photo shoot and wanted to show off a few pieces from my Beyond the Horizon Collection. If you were able to check out my article with Voyage Dallas, you know how much I love to paint horizons. If you haven't had the chance to read that article, you can read it here.

The Beyond the Horizon Collection by Brittany Lyons is a series of completed abstract horizons by Brittany Lyons. These pieces have been created to relay encouragement and inspiration in all of life’s “not so great” moments. Whether our current situation is bleak or promising, these pieces nudge us in the direction of hopefulness. They remind us that something new in life is always around the corner and that it’s not about where you’ve been or where you are now, but it’s about where you are going and who you will be.

Below are just a few of the pieces that I have available in the studio!

Naval Horizon - 30x40in. in navy, sky blue and white with hints of silver.

Splattered Horizon - 12x12in. in navy with hints of white, pink, mint, and yellow.

Oceanic Horizon - 24x24in. in turquoise and cream with gold wash.

Wonderous Horizon - 30x40in. in a mauve gray and copper with hints of gold and purple.

Daunting Horizon - 24x24in. in navy, turquoise and gold with a whitewash.

Are there any colors that you'd like to see me paint a horizon in? Let me know in the comments!

Well, folks, that's all for this one. I'll have a new blog post up next week about a design project I completed in Houston back in June. So stay tuned!

xoxo,
BEL
