E Designs: Living Rooms

I've recently been playing with this new app called "Design Home" and I'm sharing some of the designs that I've created. It's actually pretty fun. The floors, walls and fixtures are already placed, but the furniture, rugs, accessories and art are all decided by you. Check out the designs below and let me know what you think!

Hope you enjoyed these designs!

Dining Room: Small Space...Big Style

Just because you have a small space to live in doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your style. In this project, I did my best to maximize the "petiteness" of this dining area (less than 100 sq. ft.) with the pieces that were placed in it. Let's start with the table!

Angular view. The piece on the wall is a Brittany E. Lyons art original.
This table was custom made by Judy Chance in Jackson, MS. It measures 42 in. wide and 60 in long. I had the measurements before the table was made, and she used those to make sure it would fit well within the space. It was stained in a dark walnut and sealed with Danish Oil. Absolutely beautiful.

The chairs are different, but complement each other so well I decided to keep them like this. I had originally intended to purchase some cream upholstered chairs for this project. The arm chairs were some old leather chairs, but upcylced with a few coats of Annie Sloan's Duck Egg Blue chalk paint. The wooden chairs were purchased online at Target.com. They look amazing, but it did take some time to assemble them.

The rug was also purchased online at rugsusa.com, and the cream color helps make the space look bigger than what it actually is. The pattern is also subtle and adds a little more charm. The tabletop is simply decorated with some chargers from Hobby Lobby, napkins and rings from HomeGoods and BedBath&Beyond. Since flowers brighten up any space, the big bold look of hydrangeas just brought the look together.

Once you have all of the right components, you can make any small space great! Feel free to comment or share this post. I'll be posting more projects soon...as always, thanks for stopping by!
